If you like what I’m doing here and want to show support, or even get involved, there’s a way for you to do that.
I’ve always had a Ko-fi page for people to drop me a couple of pounds, just to say ‘thanks, have a coffee on me‘. I’ve expanded that page to now include monthly membership. Membership works a lot like Patreon, if you’re familiar with that. There’s a choice of tiers, you can pay a small amount each month, and in return for your support, I’ll give you whatever benefits I can.
At the time of writing, I’ve set up two tiers: Pencil and Pen. Why those? Because I write, and because I lack imagination. Here’s what you get in each.
Pencil – £1 per month
The base level of support. It’s only a pound because honestly, it’s more about the support than the money.
If you’re interested enough in what I do to support at all, then I’ll happily listen to what you say, and welcome you into the small collective.
- A warm, fuzzy feeling, knowing you’re helping towards the site and its upkeep
- You can have a fancy colour in the Punchboard Discord server.
- The chance to pick me up on bad grammar and typos!
Pen – £3 per month
Pen. The big money status.
Three. Whole. Pounds.
It’ll go towards my hosting fees, you can have a look at what happens behind the scenes, and there’ll probably be giveaways when I run out of space – again.
- A warm, fuzzy feeling, knowing you’re helping towards the site and its upkeep
- You can have a _different_ colour in the Punchboard Discord server.
- The chance to pick me up on bad grammar and typos!
- Behind the scenes – I’ll share my review queue, ask questions about the process, take suggestions, etc
- Social media shout-outs, and credits on various posts
I’ll be adding more benefits as and when I decide what they are. I’ll be completely honest with you here – this isn’t about money for me. Sure, if someone helps to chip in towards my hosting or convention costs, that’s fantastic. But even without any supporters, I’ll still be running Punchboard, because I love doing it, not to make money.
That’s precisely why the membership costs are so low. It makes me feel happy and validated just to know there are folks like you out there, who like what I’m doing. So whether you become a member or not, I really don’t mind. Either way, I’d like to say a sincere Thank You, just for being here.
